Dear Sir,

Tramway (Hongkong South) Ordinance.

On receipt of your letter of the 19th.

ultimo we had an interview with the Colonial Secretary and

Director of Public Works who promised to send us an amended

plan showing a junction at Wongneichung between the Deep

Water Bay Tramway and the City Tramways.

We received such a plan from you today

only (bearing date 2.3.17), and we propose to send it to our

friends at home by the next mail, nsking them to telegraph their approval or disapproval.

We understand that the Government wishes

the promoters to make thanselves responsible for any necessary expense incurred in diverting the path from the

public road to Inland Lot 1837 as shown on the plan referred

to, and for supporting that lot, when the terminus is con-

-structed.

This we have no doubt the promoters will

be prepared to do, if they approve of the plan.
